Watch fish dart in and around the river stones and keep your eyes out for the occasional turtle.
This family friendly tour is a perfect way to stay cool in the hot tropics and is a great introduction to snorkelling before heading out to the reefs.

Allow the gentle waters to guide you through the rainforest on this unique half-day journey. Experience the magic of the rainforest from above and below the water. Safe, fun and very relaxing.

Operating only 15 mins from Port Douglas, this tour gives informative local history, flora and fauna information as well as the chance to float effortlessly through an ancient rainforest river. Expect to see freshwater fish, turtles, butterflies, birds and platypus.

Back Country Bliss Outdoor Education Instructors have a combination of over 10 years of experience in leading groups in remote areas of Australia. Their exceptional safety standards, combined with a high level of enjoyment, mean that guests will have a great experience every time within the natural environment.

What to Bring:
Swimmers for under the wetsuit, towel, camera, shoes that can get wet.

* We recommend guests wear their swimmers under clothes, as there are no change rooms at the river.


  • Fitness level: Medium.
  • Suitable for all ages in the dry season and strong swimmers in the wet.
  • Minimum group size: 2
  • Tour subject to river conditions


• Not recommended if pregnant
• Must be able to walk easily overuneven surfaces and through moving water.
• Ability to swim is an advantage.
• Minimum age to participate is 3 years old. Children aged 3-8 must wear a PFD
• Max wetsuit size 3XL, max shoe size US 13.
• Max weight limit is 140kg
